Purpose
FreeHER is a non-profit organization founded by Carol Lynn Patterson, the author of the novel Deceit and its companion A Womanist Study Guide of the novel Deceit, that is dedicated to helping those who have been adversely affected by domestic violence (DV) and/or intimate partner violence (IPV) by: Building a community of support;
Raising awareness of warning signs;
Engaging audiences through the novel Deceit;
Advocating for victims and survivors;
Keeping liberating resources available;
Inspiring those who may be feeling stuck;
Networking with other agencies; and
Going above and beyond to e.nd the stigma that..
the silence around the issues of DV and IPV in sacred communities has unwittingly helped to foster.
